We should have universal healthcare and universal basic income. We can fund it by taxing rich people.

But taxation is theft, you say? Fine. Make it voluntary. Businesses can opt out of paying taxes. If they don’t want government involved in their business, then government won’t be involved.

But that means no government involvement at all, even when it benefits them. That means no patents, trademarks, or copyrights, since those wouldn’t exist without government. They want a free market? Then they can compete with someone else stealing their customers by selling their products at a lower price.

smarter-than-the-republicans

If a company loses money, they’ll foot the bill for once and not us. No government bailouts when they intentionally make dumbass business decisions.

They want government subsidies for not paying their workers enough? Too fucking bad, Wal-Mart, you’re not getting special treatment for being shitty employers anymore.

Oil/gas/coal companies want to keep people from using their own solar panels and wind generators? Go to hell, you don’t get to write the laws anymore.

nu11-pointer

Also no taxes, no special labels. So if you want to label your product “made in America”, but don’t pay your taxes, too bad. Want to use government certifications? You better pay those taxes. FDA approval? Better be paying those taxes. Run out of money? Too bad you didn’t pay your taxes, cause you can’t file for bankruptcy.

butmymomsaysimcool1

No no no, it’s not just that

You wanna deliver your goods? Tax money paved those roads. You want electricity? Too bad, govt-run power grid.

smarter-than-the-republicans

Holy shit, this is getting better each time.

backwardsflow

This is why the whole ‘taxation is theft’ idea doesn’t work. At their core, businesses exist to make money. Money that is created and given value by the government. If your business doesn’t want to pay taxes to ensure the continued operation of the government, then what right does it have to use its currency? Your money has no value outside of the value assigned to it by the government, so you can’t lay claim to any value you supposedly have before paying your dues to the organization that gives your paper slips meaning.

I love it

ruffboijuliaburnsides

Even the founding fucking fathers believed that taxes were important, they just didn’t want taxes levied on them by a government they had no say in as citizens.

PAY YOUR GODDAMN TAXES RICH PEOPLE OR WE WILL BE FORCED TO FEED YOU TO MME GUILLOTINE

WATCH: Terry Crews Isn’t Afraid To Rock The Man-Purse

porkrolleggandsarah

I fucking love Terry Crews.

maeamian

He’s been so outspoken about toxic masculinity and it just gives me so much hope

boccs

Terry Crews is everything good and right with our world.

sweaterkittensahoy

This was the moment I knew I would always love Terry Crews. Because he is shown a picture of himself with his clutch, and he says, “Women have the best ideas.” He does not go into a sloppy explanation about he’s “manly enough” to carry a purse. There’s no “I am a real man” horseshit dropped here. What he says is “Women have the best ideas.” And the rest of the story is basically, “I want to carry my own shit, and my wife always carries a purse with her own shit, so I got a purse for mine.”

Like, this is equality 101. You want to carry your own shit, grab a purse. There should be no judgement for carrying your own shit.

Terry Crews does not need our protection, but we must protect Terry Crews at all costs.

Bank lobbyists are scared to meet with AOC because she might humiliate them on Twitter later

mostlysignssomeportents

A “lobbyist for a major bank” told Reuters that they’re afraid to meet with Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who now sits on Congress’s Financial Services Committee, because “anything you do or say can be used against you” – the lobbyist likened meeting with AOC to “going in to talk to the FBI.”

Another lobbyist cited AOC’s use of Twitter to denounce the lobbyists who were invited to brief the incoming Congress at “orientation” sessions as an example of how letting the mask slip around Ocasio-Cortez would result in global social-media shaming for poor, defenseless lobbyists.

Sure, relationships typically start with a honeymoon phase that then grows into something deeper but a bit more mellow if things work out, but it’s depressing as fuck that this has turned into a really, really common script for straight relationships that says it’s totally normal and inevitable for dudes to just become more and more emotionally checked out of the relationship, and leave it to their girlfriend/wife to perform if she wants to get even a crumb of affection from him. I’m so fucking tired of seeing women constantly being taught that decades of emotional neglect is just our lot in life.

yardsards

what “getting out of the honeymoon phase” should mean: you aren’t joined at the hip anymore and can spend time apart, but you still greatly enjoy eachother’s company and deliberately make time to be together. you’re not just a unit, you’re a matched set (like, you’re susan and bob rather than susanandbob). you start to see eachother’s flaws and don’t put eachother on a pedestal but instead love eachother as human beings, flaws and all.

what it should NOT mean: you barely talk anymore. you feel like two completely different people, tied together by a frayed thread. you’re annoyed by eachother’s flaws and don’t like to be around eachother

cumaeansibyl

similarly: “relationships are hard, they take a lot of work” means that cooperation on a daily basis in both the practical and emotional realms takes conscious effort. you can’t coast on those honeymoon feelings forever, and you aren’t psychic, so you have to pay attention and communicate so you can honor each other’s wants and needs.

it should not mean that you’re fighting every two days or walking on eggshells to avoid the anger of an unreasonable partner or breaking your back trying to get the slightest sign of affection or respect from someone who’s checked out and doesn’t care about you.

agayworthfightingfor

This is so, so important. Dont keep investing in a relationship thats not giving back. You deserve to be heard, you deserve at the very least communication.
